“The Lord is my shepherd…” (Psalm 23)

This is the very first time The Lord reveals his personal-intimate-friendship name, “Lord” (YHWH in Hebrew, written Yahweh in English), to the shepherd Moses.

It means I AM. “God said to Moses, “I-AM-WHO-I-AM. Tell the People of Israel, ‘I-AM sent me to you.’ ”” (Exodus 3:14, The Message)

The Lord’s going to “shepherd the shepherd, Moses (former Prince of Egypt and now 80 years of age) to lead the soon-to-be famous Exodus of the enslaved nation Israel out of Egypt.

Moses is required by the Lord to be barefoot for this meeting!

Thank you, Lord, that you are our shepherd too!

Prayer: Lord, lead me forward, even when I feel barefoot and unprepared, through my deserts and onward to your mission for me—today!

Great “I AM”, You Are!

And, in you, “I am” too!

Thank you!
