A church of 75 people has 5,550 relationships.
A church of 25 people has 600 relationships.
A church of 8 has 56 relationships.
A church of 4 has 12 relationships.
Maybe that’s why Jesus promised to show up for gatherings of two (2 relationships) or three (6 relationships). Matthew 18:20
Here’s the formula: R=PxP-P (P = number of people; R = number of relationships).
Church Size. What do you think?
there you go bringing math into the discussion. If we could just infect peeps with JESUS like the covid n-19 we could go south in the new year! Hope to see you again one day soon.
LOL! South as in Southwest and stopping for lunch/meal/coffee in Merced!
The early Christians met in homes, probably limited to a handful of people that could comfortably meet in a home. The Ekklesia, a called out body or assembly, I liken this to a smaller assembly, from a greater body. Gives us something to consider!
Thank you, Terry!
Can you imagine Jesus instructing “love one to 5500”? You do need 75 people if you are going to get enough money to pay one man to lecture the Bible. But God never asked for that. He asked for “stirring up one another to love and good works…and encourage one another and all the more as we see the day approaching.” Heb. 10:24,25.
Relationships become DILUTED after 600. Clicks are required after that. The creator God of relationships knows relationships and has the wisdom to give us proper boundaries. He knows the weakness of human flesh. What a relief to not be carried into ruts designed by men to create a pay check for one man.
Thank you, Tim!
