I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 (ESV)
Feeling inadequate, poor, broke, stupid, out of gas, unmotivated, or worse?
Contentment comes through leverage, and what great leverage we have through the one who strengthens us—God himself is our strength. We leverage with God’s promise in today’s verse: “I can do all things through the one who strengthens me.”
Jesus makes it clear— “Without me, you can do nothing.” John 15:5 contentment comes to us when we recognize that all our power, ability, and strength comes through our living Holy Spirit-powered connection with God through his son Jesus Christ.
“Who is sufficient for these things?” the apostle, Paul, asks.
He then answers, “Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. 5 Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, 6 who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new arrangement…” (2 Corinthians 2:16; 3:4–6)
Pauls later asserts, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” We have leverage, Sufficiency and strength for everything that comes our way through the LORD God.
