Birds find nooks and crannies in your house, sparrows and swallows make nests there. They lay their eggs and raise their young, singing their songs in the place where we worship. God-of-the-Angel-Armies! King! God!
Romans 8:14–17 (The Message)
14 God’s Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go! 15 This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?”
16 God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children.
17 And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!
What a beautiful passage! I’m seeing it as if for the first time!
God’s Spirit beckons Wonderful beautiful Holy Spirit you beckon from heaven’s open door, and I certainly can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
This resurrection life is adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?”
Yes, I stand here at the edge of the sea and on the banks of the river and I feel trapped as I hear the hoofbeats of Pharoah’s army.
I am not trapped, however! You will make a way for me/us where there seems to be no way.
Indeed, I say to you, “What’s next, Papa?”
Hearing your beckoning,
John
