Jesus proclaimed, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” (Matthew 5:6)

This righteousness is not religious rigid, arrogant, self-serving, self-righteousness. Jesus loathed that.
Rather, this righteousness is the same righteousness Jesus displayed as he hungered and thirsted to walk with and submit to his father. Jesus “humbled himself by becoming obedient” (Philippians 2:…praying “not my will, but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42)
Here is the definition of the main New Testament Greek word for righteousness: Dikaiosúnē, righteousness, is thus conformity to the claims of higher authority and stands in opposition to anomía, lawlessness.
