“Staying right at the center of God’s love, keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ. This is the unending life, the real life!” (Jude 21, The Message)

Evil wants us to look too far back or too far forward. Back to the good ol’ days when great things happened in the Bible or sometimes in American history. Or forward to heaven when all the “real” blessings occur.

The fact is NOW. Now is the time. Today is the day.

Like blind Bartimaeus eagerly crying out to Jesus for mercy and then receiving it, so we too can eagerly look to Jesus for mercy and receive it into eternal living right now. Jesus simply asked Bart, “What do you want?”

Don’t wait. Lift up your hands, ask, and receive fresh mercy today.

His mercies are new every morning. Welcome them—eagerly. They are yours.

“Remain in God’s love as you eagerly welcome the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ as it is currently bringing you into eternal life.” (Jude 21 my translation based on NT Greek)

Jesus welcomes us now with the Bart-question: “What do you want?” His mercy awaits our request! Let’s ask!
