Saturday text (Day 7 of 7): “And seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” (Ephesians 2:6)
At the TOG!
We are Seated at the TOG—right now! (Hebrews 4:15-16)
“…when we were dead in our trespasses, [God] made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,” (Ephesians 2:5–6)
My mother sent me a card of encouragement when I was in college. The cover of the card read, “Keep looking down…” Inside, the card said, “…for you are seated with Christ in the heavenlies.” (Ephesians 2:6)
Just know, by faith in God’s word, and thus in truth, you are seated with Jesus Christ at the throne of grace with Papa Father, and swirling around in beauty and grace Holy Spirit moves like the wind. (John 3:8)
As you’re seated there
And as you’re seated there, you look down to where you’re sitting right now, here on earth, and then you look around at your home, and then you look around at your city, and then at your state, and your country, and, yes, you look across the world over at the Middle East and the country of Israel and at all of the hostilities, and instead of crying up to heaven you speak at the Throne of Grace (the TOG!) with Lord God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit for “the peace in Jerusalem.
O Jerusalem!
“May all who love this city prosper. O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces.
“For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “May you have peace.”
“For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem.”
(Psalm 122:6–9)
Giv’m heaven,
Your brother,
John Parker
