But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith…” (Jude 20, ESV)
How inspiring for our journey each moment of the day, this access to “the most holy,” or literally: “holiest of our faith.”
Most holy or Holiest helps me see this faith as highest up in the rarefied “air” —high and lifted up.
I suspect its source is up here in the high places of the Throne of Grace where we now live. (Ephesians 2:6, Colossians 3:1, Hebrews 4:16)
For me, one of the holiest things about our “most holy faith” (MHF) is that we are given the opportunity to live in this MHF and be “building” one another up in this—”the holiest of our faith.”
How inspiring! Victoriously, we anticipate and pray the MHF into the people we may encounter each day along the way—in person, or by phone, text, or Zoom!
Indeed, we are seated with Christ where he is seated—at the TOG (throne of grace). I suspect the TOG is the holiest source of the “the holiest of our faith.” From there we can allow faith to flow out of our innermost being” (John 7:38) and out to “…earth as it [already] is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)
Let’s giv’m heaven, John
Comment bonus: What does this unique phrase “most holy faith” mean to you?
“20 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
22 Be merciful to those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them from the fire; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh
Jud 20–23 Building yourself up in your Most holy faith
1. Praying in the Spirit (not in the flesh nature)
2. Keeping yourself practicing God’s love
3. Waiting for the mercy…to bring you to eternal life
4. Being merciful to those who doubt
5. Saving others- snatching them from the fire
6. Showing mercy to others
7. Hating clothing stained by corrupted flesh nature.
Without even knowing this job description for “most holy faith”, God was equipping me with scripture to be bold and merciful to do these things.
Exactly – “where we NOW live”. We aren’t waiting for eternal life, it has already started. It keeps us vigilant – an active faith where we are pursuing God’s leading, expecting Him to answer through events and through people, even in silence.
Seeing The Invisible, embracing The Unapproachable, declaring The Unexplainable,
changed by The Immutable, running after The Irresistible
with inexhaustible joy in our inexpressible sorrows,
spending our time on eternity,
owning nothing yet possessing everything
that matters and lasts.
We are Pilgrims in Paradox. Welcome to THE JOURNEY
Amen, Jim!

Praise the LORD. “Without even knowing this job description for “most holy faith”, God was equipping me with scripture to be bold and merciful to do these things.”
This verse comes to mind: “for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13, ESV)
